The savour of the cross

WORDs of Saving Grace - the savour of the cross

Matthew 5:13  Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Colossians 4:6
Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

It is by words from the heart (Matthew 12:34) in confessing Jesus Christ as the risen savior or denying His salvation by which eternal destiny is determined (Romans 10:9).

And it is by the savoury salt of the cross that a Christian's speech is recognized. Pure words of kindness, generosity, wholesome grace and love pour from the heart of a Christian.

Even Peter's own speech betrayed him when he tried to deny Christ. (Matthew 26:73-75)

Some believe it was his Galilean accent, but we know how our speech has changed since we have surrendered to be with Jesus...
