Pestilences

WORDs of Saving Grace - pestilences

Luke 21:11  And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Definition from Websters 1828 dictionary:
PEST'ILENT, a. [L. pestilens, from pestis, plague.]
Producing the plague, or other malignant, contagious disease; noxious to health and life; as a pestilent air or climate.

Jesus told us of what the future holds. We are seeing the prophecies He spoke fulfilled before our eyes.

Now is the accepted time to be saved (2 Corinthians 6:2) - the day of the Lord is nearer than it ever has been.

Even modern science has stated the fact that the sun in our solar system will become a red giant star and literally boil the water from off the face of the planet.

Some say this disproves the Bible and Christianity, but we who study God's Word know that it simply follows what we have already been told thousands of years ago from the one who has declared the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10).

2 Peter 3:10
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Revelation 21:1  And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

He allows us to see all of these truths in order to believe what Jesus has done for us all on the cross. He will come again for His church and His people, and we will be spared from His wrath (Revelation 3:10).

When He comes He will not come to die for our sin, but will come in power and glory (Matthew 24:30).

Hebrews 9:28  So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
