WORDs of Saving Grace - for a time
Acts 18:11 And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.
Often we may feel like things will always continue the same as they have in the past. But our God is alive and has plans and purpose. Although He does not change, He does move and lead us according to His will (Psalm 25:4,5).
Even Jesus ministry lasted just three years, but the effect it had was eternal (Revelation 14:6). Certainly Jesus' disciples did not want Him to leave and even forbid Him to go to the cross (Matthew 16:22). But this is mans desire and not God's.
Because we have a limited number of opportunities and a certain time (2 Corinthians 6:2) to accept the Gospel and walk in God's will, we should take all the more earnest heed (Hebrews 2:1). Otherwise if the Word and ministry of the cross is rejected the Holy Spirit can lead the man of God to shake the dust off his feet (Matthew 10:14).
Acts 13:51-52
51 But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.
52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.
