WORDs of Saving Grace - stumbling in the dark

Proverbs 4:19  The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

The preaching of the cross is to some a stumbling block.

1 Corinthians 1:23

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

This is because of blindness by the spirit of anti-Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:4

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Jesus said that if a man stumbles it is because there is a lack of understanding where he is walking.

John 11:10

But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.

When we walk in the love of Christ we not only see the will and path of God for ourselves, but we will not cause those around us to stumble through malice, greed, envy and hate.

1 John 2:10

He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

Walking in Jesus and the light of His gospel is the only Way to see in our often dark surroundings.

John 14:6

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
