WORDs of Saving Grace - in his beauty
Isaiah 33:17 Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.
It is one thing to see someone naturally and it is another to see by faith (John 20:29). And many think that if they saw then they will believe, but there is much evidence of that that have seen and still believe not (Luke 24:41).
However by the eyes of faith we can see the glory of our King, because we believe Him first of all (Psalm 27:13). And secondly because He has opened our eyes (Mark 8:25).
Peter, James and John believed Jesus and because of this they saw Him transfigured before their eyes (Luke 9:31) and He shined in His glory and it was here that Moses and Elijah preached of how He would defeat the death of sin by the cross!
And yet another time he was seen by the prophet Isaiah sitting upon His throne high and lifted up (Isaiah 6:1). It was in His presence and glory the preacher realized his sinfulness and need to be purged (Isaiah 6:7).
Greatest of all He was prophecied to be exalted and extolled and be very high when He would be lifted up on the cross for our sin (Isaiah 52:13).
Can you see Him there on the cross? Oh how He loves you so, and He always will.
