The peace of God

WORDs of Saving Grace - the peace of God

Colossians 3:15  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Often we confuse the peace of God with peaceful surroundings and circumstances.

But the peace that Jesus gives is not the same as peace in the world (John 14:27).

As a matter of fact Jesus did not come to bring a peace in circumstances and surroundings, but rather He came with a sword (Matthew 10:34), which is the WORD of God (Ephesians 6:17, Hebrews 4:12).

The peace that Christ brought came through His cross which bridged the gap between man and God (Colossians 1:20).

When we consider what He did in bringing Heaven to earth by His sacrifice we can then call Him Lord (allowing Him to rule in our hearts) and truly be thankful.

Psalms 85:10
Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Romans 5:1  Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
