my yoke is easy

Matthew 11:28-30

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

I have heard many times that "it is hard to be a Christian". But not according to Jesus. The WORD says that the way of a transgressor is hard (Proverbs 13:15).

Perhaps our difficulties are due to perspective. Because when we see with the eyes of Christ Jesus we can see ahead despite this light affliction (2 Corinthians 4:17) while considering the alternative (Matthew 13:42).

Jesus saw the outcome of His life and it gave him joy regardless of the suffering He faced, even the cross (Hebrews 12:2). If we are truly yoked with Jesus then we will walk and face the same direction and we can look ahead even as the patriarch saints.

Hebrews 11:13

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
