meekness and temperance

WORDs of Saving Grace - meekness and temperance

Galatians 5:23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Often meekness is confused for weakness. But this is simply not the true meaning of being meek. Because Jesus was meek and lowly (Matthew 11:29).

To be "meek" is to yield to the control of your master. In other words Jesus was saying that He was yielded to His heavenly Father's will (John 8:29).

Temperance combined with meekness is an even more incredible characteristic of Christ Jesus. One of the greatest moments where He demonstrated His integrity of  was when He could have called twelve legions of Heaven's angels to delivery Him from betrayal and false arrest in the garden.

He yeilded His own will to His Father's will and refrained from exercising His divine right to be delivered (Matthew 26:53).
He not only said "not my will, but thine be done"

He literally accomplished His Fathers will by meekness and temperance. (Luke 22:42)
